As an Employment Specilist you will provide employment assistance to eligible facility residents and maintain community resources relationships to ensure eligible residents of continued employment opportunities.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintain positive relationships with local Job Service and other job referral agencies and community resources and acts as liaison with local employers;
2. Assist in developing facility structured programs for job search and job retention;
3. Develop individualized job search and retention plan for unemployed residents unemployed;
4. Counsel residents regarding community vocational and employment programs or facility job prospects;
5. Counsel residents in their job search or employment related issues;
6. Conduct random verification of job searches via site visits or telephone calls and records such in resident files noting any discrepancies; Ensure that resident’s employment is not related to past criminal activities;
7. Conduct on-site and telephone verifications of new employment as well as ongoing employment;
8. Facilitate weekly employment seminars;
9. Record all employment information including job terminations in resident records;
10. Investigate irregularities or discrepancies in resident employment hours versus paid hours as well as job terminations.
11. Meets all American Corrections Association “ACA” standards and Company policies and procedures.


The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or Criminal Justice required plus one year providing vocational, employment or financial assistance or other relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree. Other vital competencies include good computer skills and working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs (such as MS Word, MS Excel as well as MS Office and Internet navigation) and a valid driver’s license. We conduct Drug Testing as a condition of employment.
